Laptops are now very important devices, especially to support work, study, or entertainment. To have a laptop, sometimes you don't pay attention to the specifications first.

Everyone has their own goals for using a laptop, and of course, choosing the laptop specifications according to what is needed. In order not to buy the wrong one, here are some tips for buying a new laptop.

1. Operating System (OS)
The first thing you should pay attention to is choosing an Operating System (OS). Currently, there are 3 popular Operating Systems namely Windows, Mac OS (only for MacBook), and Chrome OS, decide which one you will use.
Windows is an Operating System made by Microsoft that is flexible and most widely used, for prices that are affordable to drain the wallet.
Mac OS is only owned by Apple and has high security, but it's worth the expensive price.
Chrome OS was developed by Google, being the simplest and most secure, but more limited than Windows and Mac OS

2. Processor
It is very important because it functions to process information, the more sophisticated the processor the better the performance of the laptop, currently 2 processors are widely used, namely Intel and AMD.
If you have more contact with multimedia, Intel processors are more suitable for use, but if related to graphics, AMD processors are more suitable for use.
Discussing which Intel and AMD are better is difficult because each has advantages and disadvantages. Every processor manufacturer strives to be the best.

3. RAM
Serves to improve laptop performance, if the laptop's RAM is large, the performance will also be better, large RAM also makes it easier to open applications simultaneously. Currently, a laptop with at least 8GB of RAM is enough to do light work, if you have heavy work, try to choose a laptop with at least 16GB of RAM. Before buying, make sure you know whether the RAM on the laptop can be added or not.

4. SSD or HDD
Choose a laptop with SSD-type storage because it has a much higher speed than the HDD type. Laptops that use SSD technology can increase performance when multitasking. Even though laptops that use SSDs are more expensive than HDDs, they are comparable to the performance of laptops.

5. Monitor
Pay attention to the size of the monitor screen used, laptops are generally only 13 to 17 inches in size. You also have to know what type of panel is used on the monitor, whether it's TN (Twisted Nematic), IPS (In-Plane Switching), OLED (Organic Light-emitting Diode), or VA (Vertical Alignment). In the market, most laptops use TN and IPS panels, although there are a few that use panels other than these.

6. Connectivity
In the digital era like now, the need for WiFi is very important. You also have to pay attention to the completeness of the ports on the laptop, choose a laptop that has at least 3 USB ports, but pay attention to whether it has other supporting ports such as LAN and HDMI.

7. Battery Capacity
The average laptop has a battery life of 6 to 8 hours for a single charge. It is rather difficult to know the durability of a laptop battery because everyone's laptop is different.

8. Price
This is very important because the higher the specifications of the laptop, the higher the price of a laptop. So make sure the funds you have match the laptop you want to buy.
